After Jira Service Management Data Center

What comes after Jira Service Management Data Center?

Choose your next ITSM platform with a practical understanding of the Jira environment you already run. Compare options, identify what needs to move, and define the next decision with StrataCom.

Start with your actual estate

A service management decision, shaped by what your organization needs next.

This page is for organizations running Jira Service Management Data Center. JSM Cloud is a separate deployment. Using Jira Software or Confluence alone does not establish that an organization needs an ITSM replacement.

We help you evaluate TeamDynamix, Xurrent, Atlassian Cloud, or another suitable platform against your requirements. If JSM Cloud fits those requirements, include it in the evaluation.

Policy reviewed October 28, 2026

Use the JSM Data Center timeline to plan the decision.

March 30, 2026

New-customer sales ended

New customers can no longer buy JSM Data Center subscriptions.

March 30, 2028

Existing-customer expansion cutoff

New purchases and expansions end for existing customers. This is not a universal renewal cutoff.

March 28, 2029

Standard end of life

Affected subscriptions expire and products and Marketplace apps become read-only. Renewals can run up to this date.

JSM Data Center is included. Bitbucket and Bamboo continue; Jira Align is excluded. Exceptional extended maintenance may apply to eligible customers. Confirm your own products and contract with Atlassian. Read the official Jira and JSM Data Center EOL policy and exceptions.

Evidence you can inspect

Bring Atlassian experience into the evaluation.

ITSM practice since 1997

StrataCom’s Atlassian directory profile describes its ITSM experience. Company history and engagement totals cover the wider ITSM practice.

Atlassian app development

Explore StrataCom’s Marketplace apps. Cloud app work shows extension experience; it does not establish tested JSM Data Center extraction or cross-platform migration coverage.

A published JSM implementation story

The existing WEX story describes a move from Cherwell to JSM. It is implementation context, not evidence of a move away from JSM or an endorsement of another platform.

Compare using one set of requirements

Evaluate paths against the same service scenario.

TeamDynamix

Investigate service management, project work, administration, and integration requirements. Confirm the modules, deployment offering, and commercial scope for your organization.

Explore StrataCom’s TeamDynamix services

Xurrent

Investigate service ownership and coordination across internal teams and external providers, alongside your wider ITSM requirements. Confirm permissions, SLAs, deployment eligibility, and commercial scope.

Jira Service Management Cloud

Use an Atlassian Cloud baseline where relevant. Examine critical apps, security requirements, Assets, integrations, and operational change before deciding whether it fits.

Keep the Cloud assessment path available

StrataCom provides services for multiple ITSM platforms. Ask us to explain the commercial relationships relevant to your shortlist. Recommendations should follow your requirements and the evidence gathered during evaluation.

Migration starts with disposition

Decide what to preserve, redesign, archive, or retire.

  • Workflows, approvals, request types, SLAs, and exception paths
  • Service history, public and internal comments, attachments, and timestamps
  • Assets, relationships, people, locations, and identity mapping
  • Marketplace apps, scripts, integrations, and automation
  • Confluence knowledge, permissions, reporting, and archive access
  • Jira development handoffs, status ownership, retries, and duplicate prevention

Existing migration toolkit information is a starting point. A supported migration scope needs source and target versions, object mappings, tested results, and documented exceptions. A bounded pilot establishes only the scope it tests.

Three useful next steps

Start with the decision you need to make.

Free JSM Data Center options call

A 30-minute discussion of your estate, constraints, priorities, and timing. Receive a concise summary of paths to investigate and the next decision.

A call does not replace a full platform assessment or establish a fixed migration quote.

ITSM options and migration roadmap

A separately scoped paid engagement covering requirements, dependencies, a shortlist, comparable cost inputs, data disposition, integration planning, and a phased roadmap.

Schedule and fees are confirmed in the engagement scope.

Migration proof of concept

A separately scoped paid pilot of a representative workflow, relevant data and asset relationships, and an important integration where appropriate.

Review mappings, reconciliation, permissions, and exceptions before deciding the next phase.

Questions to bring

Keep the constraints visible.

Can we keep Jira for development?

Evaluate service-to-development collaboration separately: identity, cross-system IDs, comment visibility, status ownership, failure recovery, and closure all need testing. Jira Software Data Center has its own applicable lifecycle; retaining Jira for development is not a promise to keep that deployment unchanged indefinitely.

What if self-hosting is mandatory?

Make deployment, security, sovereignty, and data location hard requirements before scoring options. Confirm the commercially available deployment and eligibility with each vendor for your organization.

Will all our Assets and service history move?

That depends on the versions, objects, relationships, target model, and migration mechanism. Classify each item as preserved, transformed, rebuilt, archived, excluded, or unverified, and reconcile a representative sample.

What if JSM Cloud fits our needs?

Include it in your comparison. The existing Cloud assessment remains available alongside a broader options discussion.

How should we compare cost?

Use current quotes over the same period and scope. Include modules, integrations, migration, training, internal administration, overlap, archive access, and support. Unknown inputs should stay visible; no universal savings percentage applies.
